Dear Members
I have done the drive though on the 29th of Dec and these are my general guide lines:
- The drive will start with flat and easy grounds but don’t be upset … it is going to be very interesting later on and there will be hard areas too.
- You have to have a RADIO which can change the frequency to the almost channel or others “communication is the key factor to stay together ".
- You have to have a Poll because it is going to be dusty in some places where you will be seeing only the flag poll and won't see the car in front of you.
- It is a good idea if you a GPS because it will help more not to get lost and in case that happened you can pass your coordinates to the leading car to come and help you.
- Remember the car in front of you and the car behind you.
- You have to work as a team so if the leading car OVER TAKE someone, all of you should do the same or the convoy will be disconnected.
- If you decide to have a free play you should ask the leading car or he has the right to leave you.
I wish you a safe drive and we will continue the updates until the event day
Best Regards

Bu Saleem, Thanks for the info,
Will there be fuel available on the midway?
Request to have a final list of Almosters who will be joining the convoy

Would you expect a petrol station in a desert?? Just carry jerrycan with you. Also in the morning, before the actual start there is Emarat petrol station 3 km away. But you can expect all cars (1000+) try to get petrol there... Think about another option.

Capri....i was referring to the fuel tankers which were available in GNFD 2012. I will carry a jerry can for sure.

Fuel tankers earlier were just a mess, with very low efficiency...

I think you can drive the whole track with your full fuel tank, anyway there is ceck point close to a petrol station. dont worry

They always have a point close to a Gas Station around half way thru the drive....but still better to start with a full tank and carry a Jerry Can too.
Bu Salem can you advice how many kilometers is the drive this time ? Will help inplanning on how much fuel to carry !
Edit...just posted this and was surprised to see a gold coin under my name with the words outstanding contributions........Thanks to the Managment, I am touched.....I was only doing what I could to help my dear friends !
